"Glacial Ice" Stainless Steel Travel Mug
Low in stock!
A glacier begins when snow doesn't completely melt away during the summer. Each winter new snow falls on top of the old snow. Thick layers of snow are gradually compressed into "Glacial Ice"
The formation of glacial ice depends on more than just cold temperatures. It can take hundreds or even thousands of years for enough snow to accumulate to form ice.
This photo was taken at the Valdez Glacier. In the summer pieces of ice carve off the face of the glacier and float out into the lake. In winter the lake freezes and we can get up close to icebergs in order to check out the glacial ice.
